2. By the Campfire
We sat around the campfire,
On a chilly (scary) night,
Telling spooky stories,
In the pale moonlight.
Then we added more logs,
To make the fire bright.
We sang our favorite camp songs,
Together with all our might.
Then the fire flickered,
And the embers began to form.
We snuggled in our sleeping bags,
All cozy, tired, and warm.
3. By the Light of My Camp Flashlight (tune: By the Light of the Silvery Moon)
By the light of my camp flashlight,
Wish I could see,
What it was that just bit my knee.
Batteries, why did you fail me?
The chance I slim,
The chance is slight,
I can last through the night,
With my camp flashlight.
4. At the Campground (tune: Happy Birthday)
Oh, we like to (hike).
Yes, we like to (hike).
We (hike) at the campground,
Oh we like to (hike).
Replace hike with other action words, such as fish, cook, and camp
5. Along The Trail
Sung to: “Frere Jacques”
Let’s go marching, let’s go marching,
Along the trail, along the trail.
I love to march fast,
I love to march slow,
Along the trail, along the trail.
6. Campfire Pokey
You put your marshmallow in.
You take your marshmallow out.
You put your marshmallow in and you shake it all about.
You do the campfire pokey and you turn yourself about.
That's what it's all about, hey!
*Substitute "marshmallow" with hotdog, potato, popcorn, apple,
and anything else you can roast over a campfire.
*At the end use the phrase:
You put your whole dinner in.
You take your whole dinner out.
You put your whole dinner in and you shake it all about.
You do the campfire pokey and you turn yourself about.
That's what it's all about, yum, yum!!
7. Over The River (marching song)
Over the river, along the trail
The hikers march along
And as they go, they love to sing
Their favorite hiking song.

They love to hike and sing
They're filled with all the wonders
A nature hike can bring.
