Teaching Concepts for Indoor Experiences

1. Look at picture of the trees before fall and during fall, talk about the leaves changing colors and why they fall from the trees. 2. Leaf rubbings 3. Finger paint a fall tree 4. Glue leaves on top of tree and at the bottom of tree 5. Glue rain drops and clouds on paper. 6. Look out the window and discuss if it’s sunny, cloudy, rainy, and if it looks cold or warm etc. 7. Sort leaves by color or size 8. “Leaves in the wind” art (Stamp leaves onto light blue construction paper) 9. Leaf file folder game 10. Examine leaves with microscope or magnifying glasses 11. Leaf race (lay leaf on table let children blow leaf and see who can blow there’s the furthest) 12. Dried leaf art (crumple up leaves, squeeze glue on paper, then sprinkle crunched up leaves in glue)

He howls in all the treetops (stretch hands high like the tree) Ooooooohhhhh! And makes the leaves fall down (with hands in the air wiggle fingers all the way down to floor) Ooooooohhhhh! 4. Come Under My Umbrella Come under my umbrella, umbrella, umbrella (arch arms over head like umbrella) Come under my umbrella, it’s starting to rain. (wiggle fingers as hands descend) With thunder and lightning,(clap on thunder, then open fists & spread fingers for lightning)* And thunder and lightning.
