Teaching Concepts for Indoor Experiences
1. Practice Pedestrian Safety (hold guardians hand, stay close, look both ways before crossing the street, wear reflectors, carry flashlight, etc) 2. Look at pictures of healthy foods and non healthy foods, sort them 3. Dress up in costumes and pretend play 4. Glue a face on a pumpkin cut out 5. String art (supervised activity, yarn no longer than 12in, dip in paint and use on paper), glue spider on “web” after paint dries 6. Sort colorful spiders 7. Glue white pieces of tissue paper on toilet paper roll to make a mummy 8. Collage of healthy foods and non healthy foods, draw line to divide the two 9. Glue orange scrap material on a pre-cut construction paper pumpkin 10. Glue black strips of paper on a black circle of paper to make spider 11. Paint or color(with markers) puzzle pieces different colors then place sticker eyes on to make a monster 12. Lay on the floor and have friends line up plastic pumpkins beside you to see how many pumpkins tall you are 13. Tape the mummy. (using a pre-cut outline of a body allow children to use strips of masking tape and place on pre-cut body, add eyes when finished-EHS cannot use googly eyes)
14. Paint a ghost (paint a black piece of paper white, glue on black circles for eyes and mouth)
15. Give monster a haircut activity

Ten Little Pumpkins Ten little pumpkins, standing in a row (hold up fingers) They bow their heads to the children so (bend fingers) They run to the left, they run to the right (move fingers in each direction) Then they close their eyes and say goodnight. (put hands together and rest head on them) Ten little pumpkins sitting in a row. When they see the moonlight, they wiggle just so. They wiggle to the left, they wiggle to the right. Then they close their vines and say night-night! 3. Three Little Witches One little, two little, three little witches. (Hold up 1,2,3 fingers) Fly over haystacks, fly over ditches. (Make flying motion with hands) Fly over moonbeams without any hitches. (Make flying motion with opposite hand.) Hey, Ho, Halloween Night! (Clap) One little, two little, three little witches. (Hold up 1,2,3 fingers) Fly over barb wire and tore there britches. (Make flying motion with one hand, then turn and show your “torn britches”) Had to go home and get some stitches.
